    What Is Women's Ministry?

Women’s ministry offers multifaceted opportunities with the purpose to equip women to mature in their relationship in Christ, to fellowship with one another, and to serve others through Christ.

    • ‘Multifacted’ opportunities means that there are a lot of different types of activies for you to choose from. Just like a jewel is enhanced by its cuts, angles, and polishing, we pray that God will use our ministry opportunities to enhance your true beauty, skills and gifts.
    • To ‘equip’ suggests that we may at times need the right tools and work places to sharpen, practice, teach, and use our gifts. Our Bible studies, service opportunities, and special events will do exactly that as you participate, encourage, and step out to do something you’ve maybe never done before!
    • Maturity is not a matter of time-passing age but a mind fed and nurtured on God tested wisdom. We know that we have women of all ages walking in this wisdom and want to invite you to join us on this eternal journey.
    • Relationship, fellowship, and service. We recognize that women have many different types of relationships. These reltionshipes are brought to their highest and best by a strong and healthy relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ; in support through fellowship with one another; and service that flows out of our love for God and caring for each other.

Is the WM Just for Church Members? Is it open only to Baptists?

Leadership positions are for members of First Baptist Church but all women are welcome to participate in Women’s Ministry activities.

I don’t want a full-time commitment. Is there something I can still do?

    Yes!

There are activites and service opportunities offered at many different times; some are regularly scheduled commitments but we also have service opportunities, such as the Jane of All Trades, that will allow you to say yes or no as your schedule permits. The ladies who participate are all volunteers and would love for you to join them. We have listed the names and short biographies of our leadership team and you are welcome to contact any of them if you are interested in one of their programs.

Do you love to cook? WE need you!  Can you organize information? We NEED you!  What about decorating? We need YOU!

Are you a good listener? WE need this!  Can you lead a small group? We NEED this!  Do you like to visit or go out to lunch? We need YOU!

Do you want to know God better? We want you to!  Do you need to serve? We want you to!  Do you want others to know you better? We want too!!

    • Our mission is to serve God by reaching and discipling persons for Christ as we encourage spiritual growth in women.

And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work.  Colossians 1:10

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.  If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.  If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage;  if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.  Romans 12:6-8

That means we must be changing, growing, and moving forward. At First Baptist Church we blend the study of God’s Word with service, missions, and fellowship. We are ordinary women of all generations: single, married, divorced, widows, mothers, grandmothers, aunts, daughters, and friends. Please join us! No requirements, qualifications, or memberships. Just come for a relationship with other women who are on the same journey as you.
