Love Challenge: Bear One Another's Burdens

Listen to one story: Speak to someone who is suffering in your church and ask them how they are. It may be someone who is ill, someone struggling with a wayward child, someone who’s struggling financially. As you listen to their story, express concern, and feel sympathy, a strange thing happens—the sufferer’s pain reduces slightly […]

Fruit of the Spirit—Prayer: Weakness to Strength

by Vicki Stanley Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” In November of 2011, I lost a child, my son Chris, to suicide.  As my world crumbled around me, my soul echoed, “Be still and know I am God”.  […]

Fruit of the Spirit - Self-Control

Our interview this month is with Sharon King. She has spent some time thinking about  how preparation, instruction, and practice lead to being appropriately self-controlled in difficult situations. Our church has enjoyed Sharon’s music training in the choir and orchestra. She is talented but also instructed. “I majored in piano and I hated playing from memory. […]

Sunday Bible Study – WM2 – The Story

This class is a group of warm welcoming women. They are currently working their way through The Story – the stories that tell God’s story in the Bible. You are welcome ...

    • Our mission is to serve God by reaching and discipling persons for Christ as we encourage spiritual growth in women.

And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work.  Colossians 1:10

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.  If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.  If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage;  if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.  Romans 12:6-8

That means we must be changing, growing, and moving forward. At First Baptist Church we blend the study of God’s Word with service, missions, and fellowship. We are ordinary women of all generations: single, married, divorced, widows, mothers, grandmothers, aunts, daughters, and friends. Please join us! No requirements, qualifications, or memberships. Just come for a relationship with other women who are on the same journey as you.
